EAN/UCC composite bar code features

There is such a bar code type in the bar code software "EAN/UCC128" bar code. This bar code also belongs to a compound bar code.

1. Composite bar code encodable character set

(1) Linear component

1) EAN/UPC code, various forms of RSS-14 code and qualified RSS code: numbers 0-9;

2) UCC/EAN-128 barcode and extended RSS barcode: table 1 subset of ISO/IEC 646, including upper and lower case letters, digits, Spaces, 20 specific punctuation characters, and feature 19(FNC1) characters.

(2) 2D composite components

1) all types contained in UCC/EAN-128 bar codes and extended RSS bar codes with symbol delimiter characters;

2) For CC-B and CC-c :2D composite components to encode characters.

(3) Symbolic character structure

Different (n,r) sign characters are selected according to the linear symbol and the 2D composite symbol.

(4) Encoding type

1) Linear component: continuous and linear bar code symbol;

2) 2D composite components: continuous, multi-line bar code symbols.

(5) Maximum digital data capacity

1) Linear component

1.1) UCC/EAN-128 barcode: up to 48 bits;

1.2) EAN/UPC barcode: 8-bit, 12-bit or 13-bit;

EANUCC composite bar code features

1.3) Extended RSS barcode: up to 74 bits;

1.4) Other RSS barcode: 16 bits.

2) 2D composite components

1.1) CC-A: up to 56 bits;

1.2) CC-B: up to 338;

1.3) CC-c: 2361 bits at most.

2) 2D composite: a fixed or varying number of Reed-Solomon error correcting code words, depending on the specific 2D composite composition.

1) Digital compression: 2D composite uses directional digital compressors to effectively encode data using application identifiers (AI).

2) Component linkage: The 2D component of each EAN/UCC composite code contains a linkage flag indicating that the reader does not transmit data unless the relevant linear component is scanned and decoded.
