Bar code label software how to batch produce PZN bar code

I don't know if you have noticed that there will be a PZN barcode on the package of some infant milk powder, health food or medicine imported from Germany. Usually composed of 7-8 digits, PZN stands for Pharma Zentral Nummer. It is issued by IFA and approved by BFARM as a printed code for infant milk powder, health food, pharmaceuticals and some cosmeceuticals. This code indicates that the product is approved and registered by the German Food and Drug Administration, indicating that the product has German level of safety and quality assurance. Of course, not all German health products have PZN code, PZN code is not mandatory application, if the manufacturer does not apply to the German Food and Drug Administration, then the product does not have PZN code, but it does not affect the marketing of the product.

There are two variants of PZN, the original PZN7 and the new PZN8. The main difference is in the coding capability. PZN7 is made up of six or seven digits, while PZN8 is made up of seven or eight digits, so PZN8 can also include a wider range or more drug identification numbers.

The following describes how to batch produce PZN bar codes in the bar code label printing software. For batch production we usually use a database, but we will use a random generation method.

First of all, open the software, click the "barcode" button on the left of the software, draw a barcode on the canvas, select the barcode type as PZN7 in the pop-up interface, and select a random number as the data source.

In basic Settings, set length to 6 and character set to number.

After the bar code is made, we see that "PZN" code is added in front of the number, because PZN character is a fixed part of THE PZN bar code, and in the bar code label printing software does not need to input this character alone, the software will automatically generate. Set the bar code font and size on the right side of the software.

After making the bar code, click "Print Preview" to set the paper and typesetting according to your own needs.
